I have two coding questions. We use the services of Agri-trends and in the past coded activity to marketing expense. Should I set up a new account (marketing expense) or is there one others use? Also custom work, such as spraying, can't seem to find a custom work expense account.
Hi Twyla! Our default chart of accounts should contain 5820 which is Advertising and Promotion Expense under the Administration section and 5740 Custom Work Expense under the Operation section. If you don't see either of those or if they are not in the appropriate section of your expense accounts list then you should absolutely feel free to customize your expense accounts list by adding the accounts you need where you need them.
