I am trying to post into 2016 and my understanding is that I just have to go into set up, fiscal years and choose add fiscal year, however that is not available for me to use. The add fiscal year box will not allow me to enter anything. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks
Hi Karen, that means that you already have a dividing date with the corresponding restrictions already set on your file. If you have sent an accountant's copy off to your accountant and are waiting for them to enter changes into that file that will be imported into your version of the file then you'll have to wait until after that happens. If you enter your own adjustments, or if you are not expecting to have any adjustments then you can just undo the accountant's copy. Once you've either imported the accountant's copy or used the Undo feature then you will be able to add that next fiscal year. Next year, just make sure to add the new year before creating the accountant's copy.
