I am trying to enter a grain cheque as a deposit but when I get to the account section the inventory detail window will not show up nor will the pencil will not light up for me to use it to do my inventory detail. What am I dong wrong? Is there something when I set up the accounts that I did wrong.

You can definitely check the setup of the inventory account (Setup menu > Chart of Accounts). First check the inventory account on the Assets tab - edit the account and make sure that a commodity type has been assigned.

Then go to the income tab and edit the matching income account to make sure that it's tied to the inventory account you just edited.

As long as that's all set up as indicated you should get the Detailed Inventory window popping up whenever you select that income account. If it's still not working for you, maybe call in to 1-800-667-7893 so that we can connect to your computer and figure out the problem.
