in AgExpert Analyst, if the employee has not had any EI deductions then it should be putting an X in that box automatically. Given that you indicate the employee has not been paying into EI I would expect that to be the case, which is obviously not what you're seeing. I would recommend giving our support line a call (1-800-667-7893) so that they can help you troubleshoot this.
