I am attempting to run a year end procedure and start my new year and during the process after I have gone through each of the questions I am getting an error message "Access to the path'C:/Analyst?Finance.xml" is denied. I have looked in the Analyst folder and the file is there. I have restarted my computer and also have tried the "Rebuild Balances" option. Each time I try to run the year end I have to give my new database a new name (each failed attempt new year database names are now unavailable) and each time I get the same message.
Hello Slcampbell,
Do you know which version of the software you are currently running? What is your operating system? Windows XP? WIN Vista? WIN 7? WIN 8?
The error message usually means that you would need to delete the finance.xml file. It seems that during the year end process your OS is trying to access that system file (finance.xml). You also would need to delete the new file that it creates (it's a duplicate from your old file with a different name).
I would try to uninstall and reinstall the software to see if this works. But if you are running an older version of the software the better solution would to upgrade to a newer version of the software. It might be that the version you are currently running might now be completely compatible with your operation system.
