Hi,
I've been working with AgEx for about 5 months now, our company has had the program since 2013, I've had no issues until the 2017 year.
I had the program reconciled up to the 19th of February, but when I went early last week to do some entries I noticed the entire 2016 year was suddenly out of balance. We have got it back to normal after playing with it to the end of 2016. Transactions from January have gone missing completely, mostly consisting of payroll cheques, remittances, and loan payments. Even going into the employee year-to-date report it has nothing recorded for 2017. I can go in and re-add the missing transactions, but knowing that I had them previously entered, I am wondering if it will throw my reports out of balance?
Our accountants do have access to the program, I am curious if something they have done for year-end has thrown it out of balance or if it is my error in creating a new fiscal year, or just a software issue. Any help?

Thanks,
Danielle

Hi Danielle, I can't think of anything that the accountant's would have done to make this happen. The most likely answer is that there are multiple copies of your data file on the computer and you happen to be in an older copy of the file. The only way for data to disappear from a file is for an older backup to be restored over top of my current file (taking me back in time by replacing my current file with an older version of my file) or by reverting to an old snapshot which would accomplish the same thing. If it's convenient, I'd recommend calling in to the support line, we can connect to your computer and help find and sort through any multiple copies of data that might be on the hard drive. Hopefully by doing that we'd find the "good" copy of your data and you wouldn't have to re-enter anything.
