We sold a tractor in 2016 - the sale shows up correctly in the General Ledger and on the Capital Asset sales report. However it has not been removed from the capital asset sub-ledger listing. I have tried to delete through Capital asset set up function but I get an error message that says it can't be deleted because it is being used in the "Transaction Detail" module. I have tried in both fiscal years - 2016 and 2017. How can I fix the error so that I can delete the capital asset from the listing.

    Hi Marlis. You won't be able to delete the capital asset, it's part of your transaction history and audit train. It shouldn't be something to worry about though as the sold asset will be listed as "No longer in possession" and you can filter your lists by that property to exclude all assets that have been disposed of.
