We paid some land rent with barley... any idea how to enter this?!?

    Good morning Lisa!

    When doing a transaction like this, you will need to be in your Transaction Entry Screen. You can use Transaction Type Withdrawal or Deposit, either one will work. Fill in the information as normal, including your date, reference, and description. Leave the total at 0.00, since no cash is changing hands.

    On your first line of your transaction, select your type as EX (Expense). Select Land Rent, and fill in the memo and amount, including any GST information. Once done, go to the next line.

    On the next line, select your type as IN (Income). Select your Barley Sales, and if applicable, fill in the inventory information. This should auto-balance to the same number as the land rent expense line, and the transaction should be balanced. You should be able to record this when completed.
