I have been working between a desk top and my laptop computers as was referenced in a question below. I have been saving to an external hard drive and transfering data. However yesterday something went wrong and my file was corrupted. Can anyone help me as it has lost months of data. TIA

    I've noticed, when you're working with plug-in data storage, you have to make certain to eject the device before unplugging. It can cause corruption, for some reason. No help with your current problem, but maybe an insight into why it occurred?
