I have been doing our farm books in simply accounting for years and don't want to lose my historical data- I like the feature where I can compare past years income statements/balance sheets etc. to this years, Is there any way i can upload/convert an existing simply file into ag expert so that I can keep my historical data?
If not, when I start using ag expert for the first time, I wanted to confirm that I will need to enter an opening balance into each account based on my year end data?

Hi Rachel!
Unfortunately, there is no compatibility between AgExpert Analyst and Simply Accounting - the two database structures are completely different. I would keep a copy of Simply Accounting on your computer, so you can access your historical data, until you build enough history in AgExpert Analyst.
You will, then, need to set up your opening balances when you do set up your data file. There are two ways you can do this. If you have a trial balance, then you can go to Setup > Opening Balances, and enter the opening balances as listed on your trial balance. The second way is to go to Setup > Chart of Accounts, and setup your opening balances one account at a time.
