I have an older version of AgExpert and I have been using it for the last 10 years. Recently we had a powersurge and had to buy a new computer. When I try to restore from back up the AgExpert does not recognize my *.abk files. Why was I offered the choice to save back ups as ABK files if I can't restore from anything but zip and aga files? I resent being asked to pay to upgrade just to restore a backup that by rights I should be able to restore from without paying!!!
Hi Melissa, It sounds like you accidentally installed from a CD other than the most recent one you received. The last CD we would have sent out to you, (I checked your file, it was installed and activated) was the 2012-01 version. I believe you have installed an older, 2011 or perhaps 2010 version. This is why you aren't able to work with those .abk files. All you need to do is find that last CD, install it and you'll be able to restore your backups without any trouble. 2011 or older versions used .zip files as backups, 2012 used .abk files when backing up. If you require direct assistance or additional software from us we would definitely look at renewing your service plan, but there is never a charge for you to use, without assistance, software that you already have in your possession and I apologize if that's not what was communicated to you.
