Audit numbers do not reset in our system. They will continue into infinity until you are done using the system.
Each transaction must have a unique identifying number (audit number), so resetting the trail to 0 will not work, as then you will have multiple transactions using the same audit number. You can start using transaction numbers at a lower number, but the audit number will continue to increment automatically.
