If you track your credit card sort of like a bank account, then you will want to enter the return as a deposit to your card. Set up the deposit as you would with any other deposit. The type will be EX, and you can use the same account that you would have used for the original purchase. The line will be negative instead of positive, telling the system that the expense is being reduced.
