Hi, My agexpert recently crashed and I lost a bunch of data. For some reason my CCA./depreciation numbers did not pull from my 2013 to my 2014 now. When I open the 2013 file everything is there and looks good, but in my 2014 there are no beginning balances...how do i get these back?
The opening balance for the CCA Schedule must be manually entered for the beginning of each year. We no longer automatically post the depreciation entry during a year-end procedure so there is no way for the software to calculate the correct opening balance.
If you are not sure what your opening balances should be for the CCA Schedule, please contact your accountant or look in your tax package from them for your CCA Schedule from last year. Column 10 of the schedule is last year's ending balances, which handily enough are this year's opening balances.
Click on the Setup menu and choose CCA/Depreciation. In this window you can select a particular class and then click on the Edit button to set it's beginning balance for the current year. Once you have completed that step for each class you use, your CCA report will calculate numbers for you as it always has.
