Hi Colleen, Try putting the swathing in as an Other operation to keep it separate from the harvest. If you don't have Other available to you in the operations entry window then you can turn that feature on by going into Preferences under the Setup menu.
You can use an imaginary bin, there's definitely nothing wrong with that work-around, but you do not need to. You're right that it will prompt you to choose an inventory location when entering harvests and sales, but when that prompt comes up just click on Yes to save and close the record.
