wondering if I am doing something wrong. I am looking at my advanced inventory report (say for cattle). I select that I want just for the current fiscal year and when report is generated it is completely inaccurate as it doesn't use an opening inventory number for the beginning of the year? wondering if there are a way around this as I do not need all the previous years inventory transactions to show but I do need to see an accurate number????
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions
Kelly, thanks for your comment. I hadn't noticed that about these reports until I read the comment. There is the Inventory report which you can view in a detailed format and then there is the Advanced Inventory Detail report - two different animals (no pun intended). The Inventory report in detailed format shows the opening balance and inventory movement throughout the period, ending with a closing inventory balance. In the pre-2013 versions, this report would only have shown the inventory information for a year. I am guessing it was not anticipated that there would be a need to view this report for a date range in the multi year file and the 'method' of selecting a single end date was just carried forward from the older version. I am sending a request to be able to select a date range for this report, so that we can view whatever time frame we want for the Inventory report in detailed format. Hopefully, this will make it to the list of things to be changed in an update.
The Advanced Inventory Detail report is related to the AgriStability Reports, I believe. This report gives you the opportunity to check on your data entry relating to the type of inventory movement (Sale (SA), Purchase (PU), Transfer In (TI) or Out (TO), etc.) or the 'Grade' that you assigned to each inventory movement (Beef, Cows, NA or Beef, Bulls, NA or Beef, Feeders, 551-750 lbs, etc.) and the quantity moved that year in each of those 'Grades'. These quantity figures would then appear in the AgriStability supplemental reports.
