What is the correct way to enter prepaid fertilizer/seed for the next year so that the AgriStability Supplementary form "Purchased Inputs" is updated automatically? Now that I'm on the new version it won't update for me.
Hi Kat, Prepaid fertilizer is just posted to the regular expense account. Check to make sure it's updating your inventory account and that you have that inventory account linked to the proper commodity type as well. Hi Kat, a quick caveat on this: The above entry is only acceptable where the inventory has been delivered and is actually on hand. Where the inventory has not been delivered, we cannot count it as a Purchased Input. If instead I've just given $20,000.00 to the fertilizer company and the plan is that they are going to deliver that fertilizer to me next year I would instead post the $20,000.00 to a "Prepaid Fertilizer" asset account and then once it is delivered and used next year I would move the $20,000 from that asset account to an expense account.
