so September of this year purchased a combine w/15' header (set all up together). today, decided best to split header and combine. went under setup, capital assets selected the combine, selected split. put in the header info and saved. realized in the description I put 17' header instead of 15' Now if I go into set up, capital assests select the header and edit, change the size in the description and hit save it tells me "The specified date is invalid. Assets entered through Setup must be dated before the start of the current fiscal year" how else can i change 17 to 15
Hi Jody. AgExpert Analyst will only allow you to edit an asset if not using the current fiscal year. What you will need to do is go back into Capital Assets through the Setup menu and delete the item you created with the Split function. After it is deleted, go back and do a full edit on the original purchase transaction and create two C+ lines (one for combine, one for header) instead of one.
