Is it possible to remove a bank account from AgExpert? One already used to make transactions?

What happened was, was that last year we received this one bank statement and without realizing that it belonged to a business very closely associated with ours, located in the same building, reconciled it. Now that all this has been straightened out, is it possible to remove it from OUR AgExpert file?

     Hi Kats

The answer to this question depends on what version of the software you are using.

If you are using the 2012 version of the software, then you will have to wait to run your year end before you will be able to delete the account.  In order to preserve the audit trail, the account must remain in the current year.  Keep in mind that deleting the account may affect the five-year comparative balance sheet, if you do use it.

If you are using the 2013 version, then you will not be able to delete the account.  What you can do is go to Setup > Chart of  Accounts and edit the bank account.  In the bottom left corner of the screen, you will see a checkbox labeled Active.  Uncheck the box and Save.  What this does is it marks the account as inactive, so that it no longer shows up in your bank account list.
